Pat joined Apex in 2025 as a Principal – Tax, bringing with her over three decades of extensive tax and accounting experience. At Apex, Pat provides expert-level services in tax compliance, and business consulting, working closely with clients to navigate complex tax issues and achieve long-term financial success.
Pat’s career includes a distinguished history in both public accounting and private practice. Most recently, she served as Managing Member of PK Tax Services, LLC in South Elgin, IL from 2004 to 2025. Her earlier experience includes tax leadership roles at firms such as Plante & Moran, PLLC (formerly Gleeson, Sklar, Sawyers & Cumpata, L.L.P.), Ernst & Young, and Shore & Azimov, P.C., as well as time spent in internal audit at United Insurance Company. Her background spans tax strategy, compliance, consulting, and firm management, making her a trusted advisor to a broad range of businesses and individuals.
Pat holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and earned her Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University in 1998. Her commitment to continuous learning and excellence has guided her throughout her career.
Outside of work, Pat enjoys scrapbooking, flower arranging, and watching movies. She lives in South Elgin with her husband of 31 years, and together they have two grown sons. In 2024, Pat and her husband celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a memorable trip to Italy, visiting Rome, Florence, and Venice. They also own 20 acres of land in Casper, Wyoming, nestled in front of Casper Mountain, where they enjoy hiking and spending time in nature. Their dream is to build a retirement home there in the future.
