Kurt J. Kuczora, CPA, joined the Apex team in 2025 as a Tax Manager. In this role, Kurt works closely with small to midsize business owners to provide proactive tax planning, ensure compliance, and offer strategic financial guidance tailored to each client’s goals. He manages and reviews complex tax filings and serves as a trusted advisor throughout the year—blending technical expertise with a personalized approach to help clients make smarter financial decisions.

Kurt began his career in public accounting at a regional firm, where he spent over five years working across both audit and tax before choosing to specialize in taxation. He then spent the next 12 years in various tax roles at large corporations, deepening his technical knowledge and broadening his experience in corporate tax strategy and compliance.

He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Outside of the office, you’ll often find Kurt on the baseball field coaching one of his sons’ teams or practicing with them in the backyard. He grew up in Naperville and now lives in St. Charles with his wife, their two sons, and their daughter. As a family, they enjoy road trips, lake days, movies, fishing, and cooking—especially when it involves grilling outdoors.

Kurt’s passion for both tax and mentorship, combined with his approachable nature and technical acumen, makes him a strong addition to the Apex leadership team.
