Ethan Sumner joined the Apex team in 2025 as a Senior Associate. In his role, Ethan provides a full range of tax, accounting, and consulting services, helping clients navigate their financial challenges with clarity and confidence.
Ethan began his career in a family office in Arizona, where he advanced to the position of Financial Controller. In that role, he managed closely held businesses and investment portfolios, gaining hands-on experience in financial operations and strategic planning. He later transitioned to public accounting to focus more deeply on tax and further expand his expertise in accounting.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Arizona and recently earned his Enrolled Agent designation from the IRS in February 2025, underscoring his commitment to professional growth and excellence in tax practice.
Outside of work, Ethan enjoys hiking, golfing, and traveling with his wife, Amber. A naturally curious person, he has a passion for reading and diving into fascinating podcasts that fuel his love for lifelong learning.
Ethan and Amber were married in October 2024 and enjoy exploring all that Arizona has to offer. With his diverse background, professional drive, and inquisitive mindset, Ethan brings a well-rounded and thoughtful perspective to the Apex team.
